The goal of Phat Hat is simple: Deep rhythm, and soulful goodness with a sound that will keep the dance floor rocking all night long.

Phat Hat is a funk/soul band from Baton Rouge, LA. The band’s repertoire includes a smattering of the funkiest dance songs from the sixties, seventies and eighties guaranteed to make the music move you!

Led by vocalist, Wendell Woods (formerly of Sweet Soul), Phat Hat features Baton Rouge’s most incredible line up of musicians. Brothers Rick Naqvi (formerly of Forty Day Fast and Zaemon) and Asghar Naqvi (formerly of Zaemon), bring on the nasty guitar and drum assault. On bass, Jason Marchand busts up the greasiest bass lines this side of Motown. Matt Doran (formerly of Kicks) muscles up the Hammond B-3 and keys. Percussion and Backing Vocals are handled by Brad Zell and Brian Smith (formerly of Forty Day Fast). Andy Pizzo (trombone), Dwayne Huff (saxaphone) and Jeff Chatelain (trumpet) make up the funky horn section. Together, they encompass the band that will bring down the house at your next event - Phat Hat.
